I also like having River work on the computer for some subjects - composition comes to mind in particular. That enthusiasm doesn’t come through as much on a worksheet, so I’m happy to do lessons orally… when we have time. I do like working through our lessons out loud - especially history - because my daughter really comes alive when she recounts her favourite parts of the stories. Usually, one or two moms mention that you can always do the questions orally, and then a few more moms chime in, offering that their kids do better when they can type their answers out on the computer.īoth are good suggestions, and we’ve been doing both in our homeschool with my ten-year-old River. And I always follow along for the comments - because I have the exact same problem. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen this cry come up in Facebook groups as moms vent their frustration about kids that give up after writing two sentences in a workbook. “Help! My kid hates writing in his workbooks!” All opinions here are honest - I was not required to write a positive review.
